Video has endless possibilities. It ranges from fine arts to commercialization. It can be something you do by yourself but what I feel is the best is using it as a group project. There are so many jobs and avenues one could take in this. Materials can range from a phone and computer to sets, lighting, sound, editing, multiple cameras, etc. In a classroom, a whole class can be centered on this media. Some schools have majors centered around video. This medium is especially good for secondary schools.
Since there is so much that can be used in video, it might be best to center this around a group before having it as a solitary project. This would also be interesting to have students do for homework. Many people really take to video. It is such a part of our society that it may be second nature to them. I am not trying to discount how complex it is, but it is something we are all familiar with. It is just the matter of learning to use the technology and editing software. The main thing to remember is to have fun.
