2D Laser Printing 12-1

For this project, I worked with Becca. I have never done 2D laser cutting. We decided to keep it simple. We created our own box with only two sides and a bottom. It took a lot of time to measure and make sure the teeth or grooves were aligned and would fit together. We then looked up images that were vector appropriate and added them to the design. It was a struggle to cover the oval with the honeycomb design. We had to google how to incorporate the design to the shape. I am new at illustrator and it was a bit difficult translating what I knew about photoshop to illustrator. It was fun using the program. It really allowed for multiple ways of coming to this project. One thing I wish to figure out is how to make objects go in a diagonal. Everything in this project is standing straight. Is there a way to change the direction? Basa wood is an interesting material. It is so soft and light. When putting it together it was worrisome that it would break. I would like to experiment with this again.
